I'm migrating to MoveableType 4.x today (hopefully). Expect the site to be down for a bit.

Looks like you made the move okay! I work with the MT team, and we've got a lot of BSD fans in the community, so I'm glad to see you make the move to MT4. I know you'd been having issues with spam before -- you might want to require people to sign in with something like OpenID, which can cut down on that stuff a lot, but doesn't require any centralized authentication. You can even have people sign in with their own accounts on your MT instal.

Wow. I wasn't aware anyone from MT read my blog. :)

I did install MT4 seperately just to see what the interface was like. It's very slick. You guys did an awesome job. I was curious as to any optimizations that might have been made though. One of the reasons I had to do a server migration lately had to do with process load. Spammers, trackback, comments, you know how it goes.

I'm also concerned about some of the plugins I use and if they are going to work in MT4. I'm guessing they aren't - but at least the API/templating is fairly simple to use with MT. It may be a simple thing to port it to MT4. I can cross my fingers and hope.

I did start looking into OpenID, but I'm trying to stay away from having an authentication system. I've done it in the past, and I tend to get a lot more people posting on my how-to's/guides when I'm not requiring authentication. Some people just don't want to deal with the hassle.

Thanks for posting, and keep up the good work!
