I got >40 messages/emails yesterday about the downtime. Yeah, I got hit by a DoS attack. This isn't the first time I'd had downtime, although this is the first time it was from malicious intent.
FreeBSDGirl.com is outgrowing the jail one of my readers gave me, so I'm going to be migrating the site to a new server (probably tonight). I've been getting so many hits lately that it actually manages to kill the entire server occasionally. MT is a resource hog. This may not be the final move; I'm investigating other options as well. There will also be quite a bit more bandwidth - good luck, DoS kiddies.
The number of emails just shows how popular you are indeed (remember what Mike the perlmeister wrote? ;-))... and that we just can't live without our daily dose of FreeBSDGirl.
