Please, please, please stop emailing me asking me if I'm going to go work for Microsoft. If anyone had actually bothered reading the full news text instead of just freaking over the title, they'd see that Yahoo! turned them down.
You want my spin on it? I'm not telling you a damn thing about what's going on the company (perhaps because even I don't know the full deal behind this), but I will say this. A week from now, I will have been working at Yahoo! for 6 months. Time sure does fly when you're having fun. I love my job just as much now as I did when I started. I love this company. It is by far the coolest place I have ever worked. I could not think of another place I would rather be. I am very loyal to Yahoo!. They have done a lot for me, and I am exceedingly grateful that I was given the opportunity to work here.
Do I want the work culture to change? No. Do I want to work for anyone other than the management I'm currently working for? Hell, no. I will however always be FreeBSDGirl, no matter who signs my paycheck.
I will continue loving this company and giving it all I've got as long as they let me do what I love, which is work on FreeBSD. I don't want things here to change, but it's inevitable at some point that they will. Nothing is static, especially not in this industry. Let's all hope that today will not be the day.
I mean, hell. I'd rather work for Sun than Microsoft. ;)
