hiding in the hacker lounge

I've been back in California for a few days now. Catching up at work is a nightmare. My team didn't notify my backup of a few issues, so when I came in I had a few critical bugs sitting in my queue. Needless to say, I was not very happy.

I'm sad the conference came to an end, but it feels good to be back home. After a week of being surrounded by FreeBSD people, I thought I was going to drown in tech. It's not a bad feeling, but I do have some depth beyond computers. Not much, but it's there. It seems like all I've been focusing on lately is Yahoo! or FreeBSD. I'm starting to worry about burning out. It's not happening yet, but at the current rate it's got to happen sooner or later. Maybe I need an interest outside of computers. I'm a gamer (although I haven't been much of one lately), but that still involves computers. Nothing else seems to interest me, other than drinking, hanging out with friends, and shopping. Nathan will be out here in a few weeks. Maybe having him around will help. It'll certainly force me to take a break from the 24/7 computer binge.

I like much the picture :D

Back to your interests outside the computer world, don't you like riding your motorbike ?

Time to get on a motorcycle and hit the road for a day trip. I still head into the North GA mountains by mself when I feel burned. 5 hrs going north, or kinda north, and then 5 hrs back. Hey, at least on a bike you can't text, talk or blog.

Motorcycles; good for all life's ills.
