Motorcycle Accident

I got in an accident on Saturday when I was taking out the motorcycle. After examining the situation and what I think happened, there's nothing I could have done to prevent it. The Seca is mostly OK. I'm going to have to replace the clutch handle and get a new starter cover (although that's just for cosmetic reasons). One of the exhausts is a bit scraped. It managed to land on the handlebar though, which kept anything from getting too damaged. It's pretty impressive if you lay down your bike and your turn signals aren't even broken.

I, on the other hand, am slightly damaged. I wasn't bleeding, but I did manage to take a layer of skin off one of my knees. I wasn't hurting too badly (yay, adrenaline!), so I went to the pharmacy and got some anti-bacterial ointment and some gauze, then proceeded to bind my knee up pretty tightly. I was limping for the rest of the night, but it didn't hurt much at all. When I woke up the next day, the pain was gone.

Today, I took the gauze off - bad idea. Within 2 minutes, my knee had swollen up to two times its previous size. Totally awesome. This picture doesn't do it justice. The bruise very dark, almost black. You can at least see some of the swelling, though.

Today, I think I'm going to head to the hospital. It still doesn't hurt that much. In fact, the area near the surface of the big bruise looking thing is almost completely numb. If I press down at all, it hurts more inside, like a bruise usually would. My toes have been curling/cramping as well. I have no idea how I managed to bruise the inside part of my leg. It's all very strange.

This is the first time I have ever laid down a motorcycle. I was really hoping that my first time would be something really impressive. I'm talking a helicopter flying me to the hospital, the remaining recognizable pieces of my bike being able to fit into a shoebox, etc. I'm a little disappointed that it was this unimpressive. Oh, well. Maybe next time. :)

Get well soon!

Greetings Fusselbaer

I hope you feel better soon. Glad you were not too badly hurt.

You know if you had a spectacular accident like you wanted, well, the shoe box might be for little bits of freebsd girl rather then the bike. ;)

I'm glad you're okay, Randi. Take care of yourself, k?

Your attitude is impressive. I hope something exciting happens to you when you go to the hospital since you seem to enjoy that.
