Screw g++ and SigC::Slot() up both their stupid bums.

So I went shopping, and I spent entirely more money than I should have. I've been feeling kinda stressed and bummed out lately, so I use that as my excuse. Shopping did help a little bit, but not so much as I had hoped. I need a vacation. Time away from everyone and everything. Sigh.
I bought a really cute computer case with a window on the side and top, an Athlon XP 2000+, a MSI motherboard, and a 200GB 7200RPM Maxtor HD. All of this was fine and dandy, but when I put together this lovely new computer and popped my Geforce4 Ti 4400 into it, the video card died. I'm hoping it's the motherboard, but I doubt it. I know it's not the monitor, because the monitor works just fine going out to the vga of my laptop. At first I was getting lines down the display, but now it's not even getting past the VGA BIOS (according to the status lights on the motherboard), and I get nothing on the monitor. Bummer. At least the builtin network card appears to work in FreeBSD, although I've never seen that driver before. vr0? something like that. I'll check again later. I would have stuck with another ASUS A7V8X, but the BT chipset on that board isn't supported. All in all, the MSI board doesn't appear to be that bad considering how much I paid for it. ($100 at CompUSA). I'm going to have to pick up a better power supply though, and perhaps another ATA133 controller card. It's a large case, and will hold up to 12 drives. I've currently got 9 in it, but only 4 plugged in. This is going to require some massive power. That dinky Antec 350W I've got in there ain't gonna cut it. I promised Chad I wouldn't spend any more money this month though, and he said I couldn't spend any next month as well. Eek! Well, that means I can't do anything with this until January because all the spare December money will doubtless be going towards Christmas.
I've now read every Anne Rice book ever published, even under a pseudonym. I need more fiction. I'm so bored. Suggestions?
